Professional title and chamber / supervisory authority
The legal professional title ‘lawyer’ was awarded in the Federal Republic of Germany. Insurance
Professional liability insurance is provided by Nürnberger Allgemeine Versicherungs- AG, Ostendstraße 100, 90334 Nuremberg. The insurance covers activities in the member states of the European Union.
Conflicting interests
Lawyers are prohibited from representing conflicting interests by professional regulations (Section 43a (4) BRAO).
Before accepting a mandate, it is therefore checked whether there is a conflict of interests.
Extrajudicial dispute resolution
In the event of disputes between lawyers and their clients, there is, in principle, the possibility of extrajudicial dispute resolution upon request
at the conciliation board of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers, Neue Grünstraße 17 in 10179 Berlin, which can be found online on the homepage of the conciliation board (www.s-d-r.org), E‐Mail: schlichtungsstelle@s-d-r.org.
The European Commission also provides a platform for online dispute resolution, which can be found at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
